Ukraine Launches Mass Production of Novel Defensive Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of large-scale manufacturing for a new locally engineered interceptor drone to strengthen its aerial protection systems. The first three manufacturers have started production, with an additional eleven getting ready to set up production lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Situations

These UAVs utilize a nationally created technology called “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Iranian-made drones. The system has been tested in combat and proved successful “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” officials stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Latest Attack on Kyiv Described as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president characterized Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and wicked” after six individuals were killed and many others wounded in a wave of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in Kyiv shortly after midnight this past Friday, with enemy UAVs soon detected overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

Zelenskyy reported the nation was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and multiple missiles. The deceased were inside their residences in an apartment building on Kyiv’s left bank when it was hit. Dozens of other buildings sustained damage, among them the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.

International Protest After Embassy Damage

Azerbaijan announced it delivered a formal objection to Moscow's diplomatic representative this past Friday after the embassy damage. An explosion from a Russian Iskander missile destroyed part of the embassy’s perimeter wall and resulted in serious damage to the embassy grounds, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry reported. Russian Glide Bomb Manufacturing Sees Significant Increase

Moscow intends to manufacture up to 120,000 guided aerial bombs in the current year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official said, including 500 of an innovative, extended-range model that can reach additional urban centers. Moscow's military have been launching hundreds of glide bombs per day, with last month’s average daily usage being about 170, according to official military statistics.

Ukrainian Attacks Target Russian Oil Facilities

Moscow's maritime terminal of Novorossiysk temporarily suspended crude shipments on Friday – representing two percent of global supply – after a strike by Ukrainian forces. Military commanders in Kyiv stated its forces had fired Neptune cruise missiles and used multiple kinds of attack UAVs in the attack on Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor.”

Ukraine separately struck a processing plant in the Saratov area and a fuel storage facility in the adjacent Engels region overnight.

International Restrictions Impact Moscow's Oil Producer

The number two energy company Lukoil announced on Friday it has been in talks with interested parties concerning its international holdings following recent sanctions from the UK and the US and the collapse of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “The specific deal are to be disclosed after the final agreements are completed and required authorizations are secured,” Lukoil commented.

Zelenskyy Plans Visit to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Tuesday to confer with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. The Ukrainian president would meet representatives from all houses of the legislature during his visit, the Spanish statement said.
