Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who breached a fence and seized the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside media personnel and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a promenade accompanied by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records showed that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account contains clips of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Safety

Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said another message on Instagram.

Some supporters also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore attendees had queued up to greet the actors of Wicked

Numerous of fans had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had queued for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be launched on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film interpretation of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two very different sorceresses.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a rosé glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of last year in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, winning a pair for best costume and set decoration.
