Six Suspects Apprehended Following €12M Robbery on Gold Processing Laboratory in the French Republic

A group of six individuals equipped with military-grade weapons employed explosives to break into a gold refining laboratory located in the city of Lyon, resulting in minor injuries to five employees during what appears to be the latest high-profile broad daylight robbery to occur in France.

The audacious robbery was carried out on Thursday afternoon, with police forces swiftly apprehending the alleged criminals and securing the stolen items assessed at around €12 million (£10.5M), according to officials.

Five staff members of the gold refining company received light wounds as a result of the detonation, and three of them required hospital checks for evaluation, the regional prefecture announced. A total of twenty-eight staff were at the location when the perpetrators raided.

Those arrested, believed to be seasoned offenders, were arrested a brief time later in the adjacent municipality of Vénissieux, a source close to the investigation stated.
