Salah Offers Apology to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones

Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players following the controversy from his recent interview.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match after voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had broken down.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Team Unity

The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Positive Results

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
