Performer Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Position After Lending His Voice To Contentious Coronavirus Documentary

The acclaimed actor has given his voice to a feature-length documentary that questions the legitimacy of vaccines and commends one-time health official RFK Jr.

The Film's Provocative Basis

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book written by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that the illness was caused by a bad strain of the flu vaccine.

The publication's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with far-right radio host a known commentator. The producer took to social media praising Neeson's participation in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Denial

The team of the actor have released a comment firmly refuting claims that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.

"We all recognize that corruption may occur within the medical sector, but that must not be conflated with being against vaccines," the comment reads. "He has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His long work with the global charity underscores his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement added that the star did not shape the documentary's editorial content and that concerns about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.

Key Claims Featured in the Feature

As presented, the narration spoken by Neeson makes several provocative statements:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have called for "blind obedience" to government bodies.
  • It declares that "research has become deeply politicised."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The narration also criticizes pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it cites a report that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Historical Context and Ongoing Disputes

The film further cites a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a fresh analysis from the WHO confirming no such link has been found.

A Past Record of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's script saying, "This marks not the finish of our story. It is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
