NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

However it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in red zone defence, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season strongly and did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up big and new RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and maintains in positive down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw anywhere, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to make throws as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. He can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the success Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
