Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.

A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
